The Spark (ep. #18)

Early alpha, updates and news

Hello and welcome to the episode #18 of “The Spark“ newsletter!

Here you can find everything you need to stay up-to-date with upcoming NFT projects and web3 games.

Now let’s dive into the info

Episode structure:

[Early alpha] section:

1. SA World

  • Free mint with only guaranteed spots, no FCFS (according to the marketing team)

  • VC backed by multiple tier 1 organisations, such as Pantera Capital, Coinbase, Spartan Capital, and more

  • There’s already a fully working game in place

My take:

Besides of the own game, SA World is working on infrastructure solution, which will help onboard, build and scale other projects, creating a “unified and expansive arena for all gamers“.

Future ecosystem will be powered by native $SAE token, which is coming shortly after genesis mint. More importantly to know that it will have multiple usecases from day 1, ensuring that economy doesn’t break from start.

Project will also introduce multiple types of in-game NFTs, which will push the current limits within existing technology.

Overall, project looks good and it seems like they won’t have tiny supply, so many communities should be able to get their spots here. Worth to get involved.

SA World

  • Low supply, free/cheap mint with real NBA and EuroLeague players integration

  • Developed by legit company based in Europe, which also secured a $3M investment round

  • Building since 2021 and already concluded a successful alpha test

My take:

Basketballverse took a “build-first and launch-second” approach, where they tried to grow their audience, user base and engaged players prior any mints.

Based on the whitepaper available on their website, in-game economy looks deep, and involves many moving parts, including future $BVR token.

However, their game is just a starting point, as team has an ambition to grow the brand and develop own recognizable IP, that goes beyond gaming boundaries.

Go-to-market strategy is handled by Surgence, and marketing should start soon, so I would rather keep an eye on this one.
