The Spark (ep. #13)

The last episode in 2023 (+ holidays present)

Hello and welcome to the episode #13 of “The Spark“ newsletter!

Here you can find everything you need to stay up-to-date with upcoming NFT projects and web3 games.

This episode will be shorter than previous ones, as holidays season is still around, so less things happened in web3 overall.

However, I got a little present for you, read till the end to find out :)

Now let’s dive into the info

Episode structure:

[Early alpha] section:

1. Sekai Glory (1720 followers)

  • Gaming studio, formed by Juuni and Kaiju Kingz team members, with some notable artists & game developers

  • Building casual game with gamblefi/degen mechanics, where people can win NFTs, tokens and more

  • Expected to launch in Q1 2024

My take:

At the first glance, it seems like a good attempt to target a decent chunk of web3 audience, as team is trying to develop a “degen-friendly” game, that certainly allows to get more exposure and potentially revenue.

Founders have previous track record within their niches in web3 native environment, so it will definitely help them moving forward.

Likely to be funded, but no confirmation on that side yet.

Not much of other information right now, no sneak peeks as well, still super early; but might be worth to keep an eye and see how they will continue to develop this game and bring their vision to life.

2. Xtremeverse (3625 followers)

  • Developing a web3 gaming universe in anime setting with different game mods (gunplay, battle royale, extraction shooter and more)

  • Earlier this year, parent company (glip) secured a $6M investment round (led by Hashed), to continue building Xtremeverse on a large scale

  • Up to date, their gaming universe achieved few significant milestones: 200k+ total players and 1M+ on-chain transactions

My take:

Game is already playable and listed on Google Play, which is a huge plus, as most of the projects ship the game post mint.

Xtremeverse was very lowkey on Twitter up until December, and I suspect they don’t have web3 native marketing team. However, WL opportunities are available, and mostly done via Twitter contests.

Mint details are TBA, but seems like they’re just getting started, so plenty of time if you want to get involved. So far looks promising, but need to see what they will roll out next.
