The Spark (ep. #1)

Early alpha, updates & more

Hello and welcome to the first episode of “The Spark“ newsletter!

To give you a short introduction:

The Spark is a FREE to access newsletter, that brings you info about:

- early NFT projects and web3 games
- every major update on upcoming projects

Alongside with extra sections which may vary from time to time

This issue includes some of the hottest news that occurred this week and a few spotlights of quality content (research on pre-mint projects)

Now let’s get into it

[Early alpha] section:

1. Vastega

  • aims to be an “expanding multimedia franchise”

  • there will be 2 collections released (555 NFTs and 5000 NFTs)

  • first collection is going to be a FREE mint, second one is TBA

  • holders will get access to their co-creative platform, special quests, events, merch, toys and more

My take:

Roadmap is pretty generic, but mint details for the first collection are looking good. They probably have VC backing which wasn’t announced just yet. Genesis mint is set to be in November, and they started the marketing only few days ago; decent chance to get a WL right here

  • upcoming free-to-play game (not sure about the genre just yet)

  • developed by Games for a Living (legit video games company)

  • 0 posts on X, below 1k followers as well

My take:

Not much info about this one up to date, but trailer on website looks great. They’re using Unreal Engine 5, hence level of quality is on point. I believe that they’re building it for a while and won’t start the marketing just yet, but makes sense to follow and put notifications on to be in touch with announcements

[Updates] section:

Using my October tier list as a starting point. Will add more projects in the next episodes

[News] section:

  • Yuga Labs announced corporate layoffs and shared their future strategy (TLDR - YUGA doubles down on Otherside development)

  • RTFKT revealed upcoming Nike Dunk Genesis forging event

  • Pudgy Penguins toys are now available in Smyth, one of the largest toy retailers in United Kingdom

  • OpenSea launched “Studio“, new no-code hub for minting and storytelling

[Content] section:

Notable threads about upcoming projects

  • Wataminoodles shared up-to-date research on Overworld

  • James wrote in-depth thread about SkyArk, Binance backed gaming ecosystem

That’s the wrap for this time!
